Meet the Captain

I have been an avid fisherman for over 20 years. In 2017 I took my first trip to Lake Norman and immediately fell in love with it. I have been catfishing on Lake Norman as much as possible on weekends and holidays since then. Lake Norman has given me some amazing experiences and hopefully it can give you some too on our 4, 6, or 8-hour catfishing adventure!

Need To Know Info:

This adventure is open to any angler that wants to have a good time!Our trip on Lake Norman will begin at Inland Sea Marina (114 Bowfin Circle in Mooresville, NC). I will pick you up at the dock and our fishing time will begin when we leave the dock and will conclude when we return back to the dock. Cash payments are preferred for final balance due but final payment also accepted through Venmo and Stripe payment processing. You will be responsible for the remaining balance owed when we return back to the dock.There is very limited parking at the marina so please be sure to carpoolI am fully insured as well as certified in first aid and CPRRelease of liability will be required prior to departure. This will be signed the morning of our trip prior to boarding the boat. Please see disclaimer tab for more informationAny catfish caught over 10 pounds will be released. Lake Norman is a trophy catfish fishery and I practice conservation.Carolina Blue Guide Service, LLC is operating under the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any dispute arising from this fishing guide service shall be filed in the court in the jurisdiction of Iredell County, NC.

The Boat

Carolina blue/white 2013 Carolina Skiff 218DLV with room up to 4 people equipped with a 140hp Suzuki motor, riptide trolling motor, Lowrance gps/depth finder, driftmaster rod holders, fresh bait and multiple rods ready to go. All fishing equipment and USCG safety equipment provided (Children under 13 will be required to wear life jackets at all times while underway)

Fishing

I am specialized in drifting/trolling and anchoring for catfish with multiple rods rigged and ready!! I will also be prepared to cast for schooling bass or white perch during our catfish outing.All trips booked will be catfish trips

What to Bring

Anyone over the age of 16 must have a valid Inland NC fishing license that can be purchased at https://www.ncwildlife.org/ or other sporting goods stores.Depending on the time of year and weather conditions please dress accordingly and come prepared. For Winter time fishing it is best to dress in layersA small cooler with drinks and snacks. No alcohol or any other substances. No weapons.If you would like to keep your catch, I will have a cooler provided on the boat with ice (upon request), but you will need a cooler to take your catch home. Any catfish caught over 10 pounds will be released. Lake Norman is a trophy catfish fishery and I practice conservation.No fish cleaning services are offered with this service. There are also no fish cleaning facilities at the lake. You will need to plan to take your catch home in your own cooler.

Booking Information

I am available for trips (weather permitting) on weekends year-round, some holidays, and the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.There is a $100 non-refundable deposit required when booking a trip. Rates:4 hrs: 1-2 people $2506 hrs: 1-2 people $4008 hrs: 1-2 people $500$50 per additional person up to 4 total(Kids welcome and no charge for kids under age of 12; please have 1 adult for every one child under 12)

6-8-hour trips are only offered from October-April.4-hour trips offered during summertime months (May-September). May through September trips begin before sunrise due to increasing boat traffic and rising temperatures.Typically, guide trips booked during the fall and winter months (October thru April) will begin around 7:00 a.m. and end around 2:00 p.m for 6 hr trips.8hr trips during fall and winter months(October thru April) will begin around 7:00 a.m. and end around 4:00 p.m.However, I am flexible regarding these start and end times and weather conditions may also play a part as well. If you are interested in booking a trip and want to fish a 6hr time period during the fall and winter other than what is described above, please contact me to discuss further.If you are interested in a 4 hr. trip during fall and winter months (October through April) please contact me for further information and discussion.

Weather policy

Only Carolina Blue Guide Service, LLC Captain and Guide will determine if the trip will need to be cancelled or rescheduled due to weather and or predicted weather as the date of your trip approaches. We will not fish in severe weather. If Carolina Blue Guide Service cancels your trip due to weather, you will have the option to reschedule. If the trip ends early due to weather or any unforseen circumstances, the total cost will be reduced 25% to 50% based on the rates provided above for booking information.While underway on our fishing trip:If a 6-8hr trip last 25% of the booked time and is cancelled due to weather or any other unforeseen circumstance, the trip will be charged 25% of the total cost. (4 hr trips will be charged at 50%)For example:If a 6 hr trip is booked for 1-2 people at the rate of $400.00 and we only fish 1.5 hrs (25%) the total cost would be $100.If you book a 8 hr trip and the trip is canceled after 4 hrs due to weather or any unforeseen circumstances, the trip will be charged half price.For example:8 hr trip for 3-5 people at a rate of $650 and we only fish 4hrs (50%) the total cost would be $325.00.If the booked trip lasts at least 75% of the time of the duration of the scheduled trip and the Captain/Guide decides to return to the dock to end the trip early due to weather or any other unforeseen circumstance you will be required to pay the total cost of the trip originally booked.If our trip ends early or is canceled due to any boat mechanical issues that may arise, you will only be required to pay, if we were able to fish at least 50% of the duration of the trip.For example: Booked 8 trip for 1-2 people at a rate of $500.00 and trip ended early due to mechanical issues at 4hrs. You pay 50% of original booked trip, which would be $250.00

This document is a release of liability and waiver of certain legal rights.
In exchange for being allowed to participate in the activities offered by Carolina Blue Guide Service, LLC. I agree to the following Waiver and Release:
I acknowledge that fishing and related activities involve inherent risks, hazards, and dangers, particularly in a natural setting, which cannot be entirely eliminated. I understand that these risks, hazards, and dangers include, but are not limited to:Water-related dangers, including the risk of drowning while boating or wading in lakes or rivers.
Injuries from fishing equipment and interactions with other participants.
Potential encounters with wildlife, insects, and other natural elements.
Exposure to extreme temperatures.
Unpredictable weather conditions and the possibility of delayed medical assistance due to the remote nature of the environment.I recognize the inherent risks associated with boating and have had the opportunity to discuss them with the captain of the boat. I understand that participating in these activities requires a certain level of physical fitness, skill, and knowledge, and I believe that I possess these qualities. I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own safety. My participation in this activity is entirely voluntary, and I choose to participate despite the risks involved.
By using the services of Carolina Blue Guide Service, LLC I am voluntarily assuming all risks, hazards, and dangers, including the risk of injury, paralysis, or death.
Additionally, I understand that Inland Sea Marina is not responsible or liable for any damages, injuries, or accidents that may occur while I am on their property.
Furthermore, for myself, my heirs, successors, executors, and subrogates, I hereby knowingly and intentionally release, indemnify, and hold harmless Carolina Blue Guide Service, LLC its owner(s), employees, volunteers, and Inland Sea Marina from any and all claims, actions, causes of action, liabilities, suits, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that arise out of or are in any way connected with my participation in these activities. This includes, but is not limited to, any claims of negligence, whether foreseeable or unforeseeable, that result in damage, loss, injury, paralysis, or death to me or my property.
I also agree that I will not hold Carolina Blue Guide Service, LLC or its owner(s) responsible for any injury, paralysis, or death that occurs in connection with my participation in the activities provided.NO ALCOHOL, DRUGS, or other substance are allowed on the boat. If the Captain and/or Guide suspect alcohol use or substance use during the trip, or the effect of alcohol and/or any substance that is deemed by the Captain and/or Guide to impair, or potentially impair the customer, Carolina Blue Guide Service reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to end the trip early and return to the dock. In the event the trip is canceled or ends early due to bad or disrespectful behavior, suspected intoxication or impairment the guide trip will be charged full price of the originally booked trip.By booking this service, I confirm that I have carefully read, fully understand, and voluntarily agree to the terms of this Waiver and Release.
I have read this Agreement in its entirety and I agree to be bound by it. I understand cash, Stripe, and Venmo are the only forms of payment accepted for this service. I understand Carolina Blue Guide Service, LLC is operating under the laws of the State of North Carolina. I understand any dispute arising from this fishing guide service shall be filed in the court in the jurisdiction of Iredell County, NC.I represent and certify that my true age is at least 18 years old or, if I am under 18 years old on this date, that my parent or legal guardian has also signed the
Agreement.
